The work has probably been the most difficult in recent times. She started working on it at the beginning of February, before the start of the war, and finished it at the end of March.
It reflects inner experiences and pain because what you sincerely love and cherish since childhood, at one moment, finds itself under threat of existence.
At school, Rymma was engaged in a folk choir singing in her native city — Poltava. Back then, as a schoolgirl, she got acquainted with the tradition of Ukrainian polyphonic singing and felt its powerful vibration and power. Such power that it seems it can stop bullets. And she still carry that song throughout my life, singing on canvas.
The work «Invincible» is about our long-suffering, influential people who stop tanks with bare hands. The work was presented digitally at the «Still in Ukraine» exhibition in June 2022 in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
Rymma Vinogradova is a contemporary visual artist, living and working in Basel, Switzerland. She was born in 1998 in Ukraine, where she spent 21 years of her life. Since her youth, Rymma has been discovering Ukrainian culture in its various manifestations.
In her work Rymma explores how our cultural heritage is being transformed by current trends human development, how it changes into new forms, and reveals itself in a new ways of contemporary conditions. Rymma Vinogradova works in the style of figurative abstract art. She attaches great importance to the appearance of the paintings and describes her technique as multi-layer.
